New England Public Golf Forum A Success! The inaugural New England Public Golf Forum was a collaborative event by Mass Golf that served to educate and connect public and municipal golf stakeholders from around New England.
The event was co-hosted by National Links Trust, a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, DC whose vision is to be known as the leading advocate and resource for municipal golf across the United States, and Mass Golf, Massachusetts’ state golf association committed to advancing the game of golf in the state by building an engaged and inclusive community around the sport. Features of the event included panel discussions and networking opportunities.
The Course Rating Team is already gearing up for next season and is starting to book rating visits with our Member Clubs. If any of the following apply to your course or club, NOW is the time to reach out to Tom Giffin, our Manager of Course Rating:
Your course has not been rated in 10 or more years.
Your course has recently completed or is planning to renovate portions or all of the course.
Your course plans to add a new tee set, create a hybrid course, or would like to establish ratings for existing tee sets for both genders.
Score Posting Season Ends
On November 15th, we officially transitioned to the inactive score posting season in Massachusetts. As cooler weather establishes itself across the northeast, golfers can take the winter off from posting scores to GHIN for any rounds played in Massachusetts. The active score posting season will resume on April 1st, 2025.
If you or your staff are looking to sharpen your Rules of Golf knowledge, be sure to check out the schedule for the USGA's 2025 Rules of Golf workshops that is now available.
