Father’s Day Sunday June 15th, Links’ Memberships are still available.

The perfect gift to give Dad as he enjoys the final round of the U.S. Open at Oakmont CC.

With summer coming, what better way to tell Dad how much you care? We offer the most competitive packages in the region: Family ($900) and Individual ($600, discounted $50 if age 65+, college, or US military). Junior memberships are also available to play with Dad ($215), a fantastic value on a course where Dad can play a round in a timely fashion.

Drew’s Tip of the Month

Shouldering the blame for bad shots

Where the shoulders go, so will your swing. The alignment of your shoulders at impact will have a great influence on the path that your clubhead/shaft takes through the ball. However, just because your shoulders are parallel to your target line at address does not mean that they will be that way at impact. Your shoulders will generally be aligned slightly more open than they were at address. Address and Impact are not the same, but that is ok.

For the right-handed golfer:

If your shoulders are considerably open or aiming left of your target line at impact your swing path will generally be out-to-in, producing fades, slices or pulls depending on the alignment of the clubface. Your divots will point toward “third base.”

If your shoulders are considerably closed or aiming right of your target line at impact your swing path will generally be in-to-out, producing draws, hooks or pushes depending on the alignment of the clubface. Your divots will point toward “first base.”

Next time you are playing, before you replace your divot, stand behind your divot and notice its direction.  If it is straight or along your target line and you are attempting to hit a straight shot, all systems are go.  If it is not, adjust accordingly to your desired ball flight. To adjust your clubface, rotate you hands on the club more clockwise to close the face in relation to the path, counter clockwise to open the face to the path. Keep Swinging!
