Important News And Updates From The Links At Mass Golf

| View in browser JULY 2022 SPEND YOUR SUMMER AT THE LINKS It's officially summer now that school is out. What better time is there than to bring your kids and their friends to spend time outside being active? Check out below what is happening at The Links this month so you can get involved and have some fun out on the course. Sign-up dates to keep in mind: The Links Junior Club Championship: August 6 & 7 (signups begin July 6) Junior Member-Member: Wednesday, August 24 (signups begin July 24) Parent-Child Scramble: Saturday, August 27 (signups begin July 27) Upcoming Events/Course Closures to keep in mind: Tuesday, July 19: Attleboro Rec. Junior Clinic (front nine closed 11am-2pm) Regular League Play Monday, July 11, 18 & 25: First Tee (front nine closed 12:30-4pm) Monday, July 11, 18 & 25: Hockomock YMCA Integration Team (5pm shotgun start on the front nine) Wednesdays in July: Women’s Wednesday League (5pm shotgun start on the front nine) Saturdays in July: PGA Junior League Matches (front nine closed 10am-12pm) View Events At The Links   JUNIOR GOLF Wednesday Junior Member League Junior Member League is a great way to get to know your fellow junior members. Each league day begins at 10 a.m. (new for 2022) and features fun, varying formats. League dates: July 13, 20, 27; August 3, 10, 17. You can sign up on-site the day of the league (by 9:45am) $5/player per week. First Tee Norton summer sessions are FULL but still accepting waitlist registrations. The program is part of Mass Golf's commitment to growing the game by providing various learning and playing opportunities at The Links at Mass Golf for youth of all ages and abilities. Volunteers Needed If you have the time and would like to make an impact on junior golf and the future of the game, we have many opportunities and are always looking for volunteers. If you have an interest in helping out, please email PGA Golf Professional Drew Chapman: dchapman@massgolf.org.   DREW'S TIP OF THE MONTH The World Golf Hall of Fame Member Mickey Wright, considered by many including Ben Hogan to have the greatest swing of all time, said, “You can’t take a car from a dead start and put it immediately up to 70mph. No matter how powerful your engine, you must have a gradual acceleration of speed. So, it is in a golf swing.” All quick and jerky motions are improper execution.
