This month, I took a trip to the Kohr Golf facilities to see an academy session take place and meet Mai Dechathipat. Mai is the only female instructor on staff, a previous World Long Drive Champion, and has an interesting background with spending her summers at Kohr, traveling back to Thailand, and finally getting the work visa to stay on staff with Kohr. She continues to train for the World Long Drive Competition while working with the academy kids. If you haven't had the chance to meet Mai, I highly recommend getting to know her with me.

August was a busy month for us here at Mass Golf. I still want to urge everyone to continue to participate in the events as we round out the season, but I also want to highlight some of the accomplishments from the month of August.
Girl's Junior Amateur Champion
Madison Smith became the first of the Smith sisters to capture to Girl's Junior Amateur title at the beginning of August. This was also her first-ever title playing in Mass Golf events. Read more below!
This year's final was another Smith-Skoler matchup. This time, Rebecca Skoler coming out to be victorious after a great semi-finals match over Morgan Smith, and some great up and downs to win over Molly Smith.
After a tough back and forth battle with a three time champion and various weather conditions, Sue Curtin has taken home the Women's Senior Amateur Championship Title for the very first time!
These are a few of my favorite moments from the month of August, and I want to make note of them for the light they deserve!

Aside from the golf being played during the Women's Amateur, on Day 4 the entire official crew was made up of female volunteers for the first time since Mass Golf has run the event. It was such a special day for all involved.
Now ranked 27 in the world. Winning the LPGA title during the Canadian Open, Massachusetts own Megan Khang officially has her first professional win. Click below to watch the highlights of her winning round!
