April Vacation Junior Golf Classes (ages 7-17), 3 Day Session

The April School Vacation Golf Classes will be held on April 22-23-24. There are two separate classes that will be held on Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday at 9:00am-10:15am (Beginners Only) or 10:45am-12:00pm (Recreational or experienced golfers).

Get your junior golfer starting the season in the right direction. The investment is $35/person for all three sessions, which will be paid when you sign up by calling the pro shop (508) 222-0555.  Space is limited to 15 golfers each session!

Memberships Are Still Available

With spring right around the corner, what better time to secure a Link’s membership? We offer the most competitive membership packages in the region: Junior Golfer ($215), Family of spouses and children under 18 ($900), Individual golfer ($600), discounted membership of ($550) if age 65+, a college student, or U.S. military.  A fantastic value on a course where you can play a round in a timely fashion.

Annual Season Reminders

The first tee time on each day will begin at the time scheduled and not earlier to allow our Grounds Staff to get a jump start on what they need to do to set up play for the day.

Advanced tee times are suggested.  If you are unable to make your tee time, please contact the pro shop asap and prior to your start time so that others may schedule play during that time frame.  Reminder: Members may book their tee times 10 days in advance, Non-members 5 days in advance.

Please review the local rules on the scorecard: help us take good care of the course by replacing DIVOTS, smoothing BUNKERS, re-pairing your BALL MARKS (plus one other), and not causing unnecessary damage to the course such as hitting more than ONE BALL unless in accordance with the rules of golf. If we all take care of the course, we will all enjoy it that much more.

Green Aerification will being taking place on April 28-29-30 (weather pending)

Aerification takes place several times a year even when the greens appear to be in great shape. Without aerification, putting greens develops a layer of thatch beneath the surface.  This spongy buildup of organic matter makes greens bumpy and restricts the passage of water and nutrients. Aerification also helps break up the compacted layering surface below that you can’t see allowing for deeper root growth and a healthier putting surface.

Updated Calendar is available on The Links Website

A calendar of events for the 2025 season has been updated on The Links website.  Please refer to it often to check course availability and all golf activities.  First Tee classes, YMCA and Women’s Wednesday League, PGA Junior League will all be in “full-swing” late April and early May.

Drew’s Tip of the Month

Helpful Guidelines for New Golfers

• While we encourage all new golfers to have a pleasant round of golf, please keep up with the group in front of you.  Play as quickly as you can, but don’t rush.  Be cognizant of other golfers, especially those behind you.
• Score no more than double Par (6 for all holes).
• If after four shots you are not on the green, pick up your ball and putt out.
• Limit the number of practice swings to no more than two.
• If you are having difficulty getting the ball in the air or making solid contact (except on the putting green), try teeing up every shot including the fairway, rough, and bunkers.  Don’t worry about swing techniques, just focus on clipping the tee out from under the ball with the club head.  Have Fun!

Golf Quote of the Month

"Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part.  It also is in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday, and a hope for tomorrow." - New York Tribune (1916)
