- SCORE POSTING SEASON BEGINS APRIL 1st - 

Beginning Monday April 1st, all rounds played in Massachusetts should be posted with the GHIN Mobile App or GHIN.com

New for 2024: 

All posted 9 hole scores will be scaled up to an 18 hole score differential - please see below to learn more about this and other changes to the WHS

-WORLD HANDICAP SYSTEM REQUIREMENT-

It's time to renew your Club's WHS authorization!

All Member Clubs are required by the USGA to meet the 2024 WHS authorization standards for the 2024 season.

Mass Golf is offering an opportunity for at least one representative from your Club to meet the 2024 standards, including successful completion of the WHS quiz.  

MASS GOLF WHS WEBINAR:

THURSDAY, APRIL 25th, 9:30AM - 11:30AM

This Session Will Cover:

-Overall review of WHS Rules of Handicapping

-Review of WHS key changes for 2024: 

    *Treatment of 9-hole scores and scores for 10 to 17 holes played

    *New minimum length for courses to obtain Course and Slope Ratings™  

-Preparation for club authorization quiz

-Quiz will be administered to attendees during the webinar

2024 World Handicap System Revisions - What You Need to Know:

The USGA and The R&A have jointly announced several major changes to the World Handicap System™ for 2024. Updates to the WHS include:

• Treatment of 9 Hole Scores - FAQ |  INFOGRAPHIC
• Treatment of 10 to 17 Hole Scores - FAQ |  INFOGRAPHIC 
• Inclusion of Shorter-Length Courses Within the Course Rating System - FAQ
• Enhanced Guidance and Tools for Clubs when Conducting a Handicap Review  (see WHS Change Summaries below)

Member Club Mailer - Be on the Lookout! 

Your Mass Golf Season Start Package will be arriving at a mailbox near you around April 1st.  The package includes the popular Mass Golf/USGA/NEGA championship and tournament posters, information you will need for season start and other informative items. 

Changes in Staff or Leadership Contacts at your Facility? 

We want to ensure all staff and representatives at your course/club receive the appropriate communications from Mass Golf.  We have developed an easy-to-use form for our Member Clubs to provide the latest contact information – just fill out the form and click submit.  We appreciate your assistance!
