    Annual Season Reminders

The first tee time on each day will begin at the time scheduled and not earlier to allow our Grounds Staff to get a jump start on what they need to do to set up play for the day.

Advanced tee times are suggested.  If you are unable to make your tee time, please contact the pro shop asap and prior to your start time so that others may schedule play during that time frame.  Members may book their tee times 10 days in advance, the General Public 5 days in advance.

Please review the local rules on the scorecard:  take good care of the course by replacing DIVOTS, smoothing BUNKERS, re-pairing your BALL MARKS (plus one other), and not causing unnecessary damage to the course such as hitting more than ONE BALL unless in accordance with the rules of golf.

Updated Calendar is Available on the Links Website

    Drew's Tip of the Month

Most of the lessons that I give involve the full swing…I want to hit it further, get rid of my slice, I need to be more consistent. Improvement in your ball striking will lower the highest scores that you may shoot, but to lower the lowest scores, you need to improve your short game and your mental approach. I am sure most golfers would agree and if they are dedicated, they will work diligently on their putting, chipping, pitching, and bunker play. However, when I tell golfers that they need to improve their mental approach, they often have no idea what I am talking about.

To simplify the mental approach, I will briefly address two areas: course management and doubt. The Scottish Professional Tommy Armour winner of the U.S. Open, PGA, and Open Championship in his bestselling book “How to Play Your Best Golf All the Time” wrote, “play the shot you’ve got the greatest chance of playing well, and play the shot that makes the next shot easy.” Simple advice on managing your way around the course. I will add that if you can’t hit your target 80% of the time, you need to pick a different target that you can hit 80% of the time, always leaving you with an easy shot. If, however, you have picked your target and doubt begins to creep in, ask yourself, “is it possible that I could hit a good shot?” Your brain will always answer yes, it is possible, and a confident swing will follow. Ask yourself a good quality question and your brain will give you a good quality answer. Keep Swinging!

    Golf Quote of the Month:

“It’s not the walking or the swinging that tires you at golf; it’s the thinking or, more often, the ineffectual effort of trying to think and not knowing how to do it that wears you do."  -Tommy Armour
