Donate to the 100 Hole Hike

Youth on Course supporters from across the country become “Hikers” and take on the formidable challenge of playing (and walking!) 100 holes of golf in one day, all in an effort to help ensure young people have affordable access to golf and the life-changing opportunities that come with playing the sport. Consider donating to our Massachusetts contingent of hikers, who will take on the Links on September 18th.

        Drew's Tip of the Month

With less than a full swing, putt when you can, chip when you can’t putt, and pitch when you can’t chip. When playing a chip shot, use the club with the least amount of loft that will get the job done. Think minimum amount of airtime, maximum amount of ground time. Find the closest flat spot on the green to land your ball and let it roll out from there. Using a club with more loft than is necessary requires a bigger swing, which can often results in bigger misses, especially on off center contact. As we get older, and our nerves aren’t quite what they use to be, the less lofted chipping club can do wonders for your confidence.

        Drew's Quote of the Month

“The common error is taking the club back too far and decelerating through impact, which is like a boxer pulling his punches. It causes all sorts of mishits and misdirected chips and pitches.”

-Tom Watson, Five-time Winner of the Open Championship
